mauserme Posted April 13, 2011 at 07:42 PM Author Posted April 13, 2011 at 07:42 PM And all this time I thought that was Rep Mautino talking.
Tvandermyde Posted April 13, 2011 at 07:43 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 07:43 PM What would you like me to get them to say?
Bud Posted April 13, 2011 at 07:47 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 07:47 PM Bud thats classic African Gray!!!!!hilarious!!!!My sister had one and they gotta be the most inteligent birds...... W Remind me to tell you about the three month long stay in heck after the smoke alarm battery got weak and started chirping to tell us. It was directly over the (stupid) birds cage Can you train them to stop saying things? yes but only if you want to hear a week of "don't say that, don't say that, don't say that"
TyGuy Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:03 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:03 PM This guy is my favorite speaker. Does anyone know his name?
oneshot Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:06 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:06 PM I have to post this here because you guys will understand what is happening. My 'man cave" (containing the I Love Me wall) is just off the dining room and living room where my wife's African Gray parrot lurks in his (or maybe her) cage. We had to move the bird from the living room because once he hears something he likes, more than once, (clap on! clap off!) then he is able to repeat it. Over and over again. The parrot "Larry" (I have no idea why that is his name) just said, loudly and clearly "Have all voted who wished?" "Have all voted who wished?" Hilarious.

lee n. field Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:08 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:08 PM HB203 - 47 yes 68 nay 0 present Declared lost One gunamonth? Most excellent.
Drylok Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:25 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:25 PM Sounds like I missed the fun, but I'm here now
Frank Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:29 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:29 PM Looks like freshman Senator Suzi Schmidt just survived her hazing/initiation. It would have been funny if it hadn't been done on the taxpayers' time. -- Frank
mauserme Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:34 PM Author Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:34 PM On HB0203 - One Gun per Month , Representatives Sente and Hernandez signed on as sponsors just before its defeat. Welcome to the losing side of the argument ladies. Enjoy your stay. EDIT: I misread the bill status. Representative Sente actually removed herself as a sponsor the morning of the vote.
TyGuy Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:34 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:34 PM I've had it muted. What is 3156 about? Planned Parenthood, abortion, etc...?
Drylok Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:40 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:40 PM Rep Reis-"This bill will not limit the right of women to terminate pregnancies" I was just looking through my handy dandy pocket constitution and I don't see anything in it that reads "the right of women to have abortions shall not be infringed". Can we please stop making up rights?
Davey Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:40 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:40 PM Looks like we got some good wins in today but none of them with 71 or more votes in our favor. Should we be concerned for hb148?

Can we please stop making up rights?+1,000 I hate it when "rights" are made up, especially when the same people want to take away the actual RIGHTS that are enumerated in the Constitution.
Beezil Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:42 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:42 PM I've had it muted. What is 3156 about? Planned Parenthood, abortion, etc...? bringing up the standards of ambulatory facilities that perform early term abortions at least to the standards of other outpatient service facilites. I've heard arguments that veternary clinics are held to higher standards. I have no horse in this race.

mauserme Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:46 PM Author Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:46 PM While not trying to get into a discussion about abortion, the thing I don't understand is that so many legislators who support a right to abortion are also against the second amendment. I just don't know how to reconcile the former, where the excersice of the right will end human life, while there are so many ways to excersice the latter without even threatening human life.

They support their right to choose, but their against your choice. Its an elitist view. The only choices people should have are ones that are granted by the elite.
TyGuy Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:55 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:55 PM I'll be leaving a few minutes after 4pm. Can someone else keep an eye on the house after that?
mauserme Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:56 PM Author Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:56 PM I'm still here for another 40 minutes or so.
billzfx4 Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:58 PM Posted April 13, 2011 at 08:58 PM What would you like me to get them to say? "HB 148 passes with a super-majority and moves to the Senate!!" I could listen to that all day!

In Illinois it seems the theory is the only "rights" people should have are those granted by the elite.
