xmikex Posted June 1, 2012 at 06:52 AM Posted June 1, 2012 at 06:52 AM The Fight - Force on Force Scenarios - June 16-17 - Germantown WI. It's rare that civilians are able to participate in Force on Force training geared towards CCW. Take advantage of this opportunity to get out and pressure test your Mindset, Tactics and Skill. Germantown WI is only 2 hours from downtown Chicago. 1:45 from Madison WI. and 30 minutes from Milwaukee WI. There is no ammo requirement - we provide SIMS rounds for every student. 2 days / $500 Details:THE FIGHT will test your defensive skills against thinking, moving adversaries in over a dozen realistic scenarios. Years of static square range training won't give you the tools and insights that these two days of tactical problem solving will. Make no mistake; this is a gunfighting course. We use paint marking rounds fired safely from real guns for the most realistic and adrenaline charged training experience to be had! This is a student’s quote from our class; “Force on Force is an ego crushing experience, but no other training can teach and reinforce the lessons of reality quicker than it can. Only by working with and against real live thinking reacting people can tactics be proven and our training be tested. The stress is not as great as the stress of an actual life threatening attack, but it is as close to it as we can safely come in training. You will taste fear and uncertainty. You will second guess yourself later. You will learn lessons that you can not in any other way short of actual events.” Test yourself! Get into THE FIGHT! We allow anyone to attend this course. Ideally you would already have a handle on the legal and practical sides of personal defense and would have graduated from Tactical Response's FIGHTING PISTOL. http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/IMG_05312.JPGhttp://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/IMG_0526.jpghttp://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/Picture573.jpghttp://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/Picture695.jpg http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/Picture458-1.jpg We respectfully request that students have read "The Principles of Personal Defense" by Jeff Cooper before attending class. xmikex Posted June 1, 2012 at 06:08 PM Author Posted June 1, 2012 at 06:08 PM No idea if they're going to do this type of class geared towards CCW. The analogy I like to use is that "square range" training is like driving a race car alone on a closed track. You know the direction you're going, the speed you can use, etc. Force on force training is much more like driving in intense highway traffic at full speed. There are a lot more decisions to make and a LOT more variables involved. The Fight is a Scenario-based FOF class - which is more based on your decision making, tactical choices and multitasking / handling stressful situations and problem solving. Your skills will definitely be challenged (did you make hits? Were they GOOD hits? Did you see your sights? How were your reloads? etc. etc.) but it's primarily focused on your decision making (Did you need to fight? Did someone need to get shot? What made you decide to do what you did? etc.) MOST FOF classes are skills-based (like Southnarc's EXCELLENT ECQC class) and are oriented towards teaching new skill sets under stress. The Fight doesn't have any scenarios where you're striking / hitting opponents and attempting to retain your gun in close quarters grappling. The helmets / eye-pro / etc. are too bulky and detract from the focus of SCENARIO based FOF. SKILLS-BASED FOF should be using the heavier gear for striking, etc. as they are teaching you unique skills where the decision to fight has already been made. Hope this helps clarify.
